A love of reading starts from day one.
These books will foster that love.

The more you read, the more things you will know.” - Dr. Seuss

If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books.” Roald Dahl

I will defend the importance of bedtime stories to my last gasp.” - J.K. Rowling

Baby books (0-2)

Since becoming a father, I have become a self-proclaimed expert on baby books. Here are my tips:

  • Board books are the way to go - paper rips; paperboard doesn’t. trust me.

  • Imagine you’re reading it for the 100th time - these aren’t one-time reads. avoid anything that annoys you, even if they like it.

  • Feel = yes; flap = no - yes, they love engaging their senses. go with touch and feel books because flaps won’t last.

  • Rhyming is a win - you can change your tone and make the experience more engaging

  • Avoid wordy pages - attention spans are limited at this page. don’t push your luck with multiple sentences before turning a page.

Toddler books (2-5)

Series recommendation. Love the illustrations, which will have adults chuckling and kids captivated no matter how many times you read them.
